Wind power captures the natural wind in our atmosphere and converts it into mechanical energy, then electricity. People started using wind power centuries ago with windmills, which pumped water, ground grain, and did other work. Today's wind turbine is a highly evolved version of a windmill.
EDF uses wind turbines to power its office space, while gaining valuable insight into the viability of larger scale wind power at its location.

Pyrolysis is a thermochemical decomposition of organic material at elevated temperature without the participation of oxygen. In this process, long polymer molecules are broken down into shorter chains of hydrocarbons with the help of heat and pressure.
Our main operation also provides bio-diesel for our back up generators

OFF THE GRID OPERATIONS
Solar cells, also called photovoltaic (PV) cells by scientists, convert sunlight directly into electricity. PV gets its name from the process of converting light (photons) to electricity (voltage), which is called the PV effect.
EDF uses solar PV to power its guard shack weigh scales and its office. With outages being regular occurence using the national grid EDF decided early on to run its entire operation entirely off the grid!
